Police: 11-year-old brings knife to Rock Hill elementary school

- An elementary school student brought a knife to school on Thursday, according to Rock Hill Police.

Officers were called to York Road Elementary around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8. Upon arrival, Principal Patrick Robinson said a 7" kitchen knife had been found inside of an 11-year-old student's backpack.

The student who brought the knife reportedly showed it to two other students on the school bus, and said she was going to stab someone with it.

The student told police she was joking about stabbing another student, and said she did not put the knife in the bag, but found it and showed it to the other students.

A threat assessment was done, and the student was charged with unlawful weapon on school property.
