Police: 2 men pistol whipped, robbed at gunpoint

- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying three people who they say are responsible for an armed robbery.

Officers said at 1:43 a.m. Saturday, July 9 they responded to the 8100 block of Idlewild Road in reference to a robbery. 

The victims told police that they drove to the ATM to deposit money when one of the suspects approached them striking one of the victims on the right side of his face. As the victim fell to the ground the suspect kicked him several times. 

Another suspect walked over to the second victim and hit him in the face several times, causing minor injuries. 

The suspects picked up the money on the ground and fled the scene on foot. 

The first suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20’s, approximately 6’1”, with short dreadlocks or twists with a red tint.  The other two suspects are described as Hispanic males, one of them was wearing a white shirt.
