Police arrest second suspect in 2014 Charlotte murder

Police say they have arrested a second man in connection with the murder of a Charlotte man back in 2014.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged Shawn Archie Stinson, 38, for his involvement in the murder of Michael Angelo Crawford.

Crawford, 44, was found dead on September 17, 2014.

Back in 2014, authorities arrested 34-year-old Corey Demon Walker in relation to Crawford’s death. Walker was charged with first degree murder, burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Detectives say information and evidence gathered led them in identifying Stinson as a coconspirator in this case.  Stinson was arrested Thursday morning and transported to police headquarters where he was interviewed by Homicide/ADW Unit Detectives.  He was subsequently transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.  Stinson has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.

The investigation is ongoing.
