Police: Homeowner finds armed men wearing masks in living room

Statesville Police have arrested and charged two men involved in a home invasion and armed robbery.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of James Way Drive. The homeowners awoke and found two suspects wearing masks in their living room, according to police.

Police say the homeowners told them one suspect was holding a machine gun style weapon and the other suspect was armed with a knife.

The suspects took various jewelry and other valuable items and then fled the scene.

No one in the residence was injured.

William Joseph McCurdy and Jeremy David Gullett were arrested and charged with first degree burglary and armed robbery.

They were both given a $150,000 secured bond and placed into the Iredell Co. Jail.
