SALISBURY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Two men wanted in connection to a deadly shooting that killed two young men and hurt three others have been arrested.
According to Salisbury Police, Jalen Lamont Cook and Zaleko Duren, both 23, were taken into custody Tuesday. Cook is facing two counts of murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon. Duren is facing one count of inciting a felonious riot.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Saturday, July 29 along W. Fisher Street.
Officers said some sort of argument broke out in a parking lot and the two victims, Daquan Robertson, 23, and Anthony Gill, 22, tried to defuse the situation before the suspect pulled out a gun and started shooting.
On Tuesday, Salisbury Police Chief Jerome “Jerry” Stokes said the two suspects are known gang-members in the community but the shooting incident was not necessarily gang-related.
