16-year-old charged with murder in north Charlotte deadly shooting

- An argument between at least two people resulted in a deadly shooting Monday afternoon in north Charlotte, police said.

Police have arrested Tamerrian Anthony, 16, in connection to the murder of Demario Roddey, 25.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, the incident happened around 2:40 p.m. in the 9300 block of Feldbank Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they found Roddey laying in a front yard with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Police did not consider the shooting to be random and told FOX 46 that they believed Roddey and Anthony were having an argument, which led to the shooting.

Anthony was found a short time after the shooting. He was arrested and taken to CMPD headquarters for an interview, after which he was charged with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective.
