CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested one of the suspects wanted in the murder of 24-year-old Jimmy R. Daniels Jr.
Officers responded to a northwest Charlotte neighborhood around 3:00 a.m. in reference to a man that had outstanding murder warrants from Halifax County.

When officers arrived the man barricaded himself inside and refused to come out on commands, according to CMPD.
SWAT was called to the scene and set up a perimeter. The SWAT team entered the residence around 3:45 a.m. and took 20-year-old Tyquan Powell into custody without further incident.
Lamont Lloyd 22 of Scotland Neck, NC is also wanted with the shooting death of Daniels, according to Scotland Neck Police.
There are active warrants for Lloyd including murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He is considered armed and dangerous.
On Tuesday, January 26 Scotland Neck police responded to shots fired call at the corner of Grace and 11th streets. Daniels had been shot white sitting in a car at the intersection. Two others in the vehicle were also injured, according to police.
Police say Daniels and one other victim were airlifted to Vidant Medical Center, but Daniels later died from his wounds.
