Police: Teen arrested after shooting into occupied home, throwing firearm in the river

- A teenager is facing multiple charges after he shot into an occupied home, led officers on a chase, and threw his firearm into the river in west Charlotte, police said. 

The incident began at 1:52 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 in the 800 block of Lobilia Lane. 

Upon arrival, CMPD officers located a home with several bullet holes in front of the house. During the investigation, detectives identified Bruce Little, 19, as the suspect in the shooting. 

Shortly after, officers observed Little driving a white Hyundai on Wilkinson Boulevard. Police attempted to stop the vehicle but Little refused to pull over and a chase ensued. 

The pursuit continued on Wilkinson Boulevard and went into Gaston County and back. While driving over the Wilkinson Boulevard bridge, officers observed Little throw a firearm out of the vehicle and into the river. 

Officers continued the pursuit until Little surrendered himself and was taken into custody on Hathaway Hills Drive. Little is charged with two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony flee and elude, resisting arrest, and multiple traffic charges.  

On Sunday, Oct. 22, members from the Charlotte Fire Departments Dive Team located a firearm that was in the river. The firearm was subsequently turned in as evidence.
