Police: Man arrested for taking photos up woman's skirt inside Huntersville Kohl's

- An alleged peeping tom has been arrested for taking photos of a woman inside Kohl's in Huntersville, police say.

According to Huntersville Police, Edgar Cruz-Bautista was arrested Sunday evening and charged with felony secret peeping. The incident took place inside the Kohl's department store in Huntersville.

Sunday night a Huntersville police officer was at the Kohl’s on Sam Furr Road in looking into an unrelated case when someone told him about Cruz-Bautista.

That officer caught Cruz-Bautista in the act on store surveillance video taking pictures up a woman’s skirt from his cell phone, according to Huntersville Police, who say it’s unclear if the victim knew she was being photographed.

Police indicated they’re looking at Cruz-Bautista’s cell phone to see if there are other victims or if he targeted other stores.

“There’s nothing you can do. There’s creepers in the world, and they’ll do their creeper business whether we want them to or not,” shopper Jasmyne Monroe said.

“I’m very offended by that. I think security should be better” shopper Anne Silver said.

Cruz-Bautista is scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
