Police: Man stabbed near Publix Supermarket in Boone

- A man was transported to the hospital after he was stabbed near a local Publix Supermarket Sunday afternoon in Boone, according to the Boone Police Department. 

The stabbing occurred at 4:42 p.m. in the vicinity of 1620 Blowing Rock Road - Publix Supermarket. 

Officers said Harley Justin Mills, 25, of Boone, was stabbed by another man and was taken to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment. He is in stable condition at the hospital. 

The suspect has been identified as Jeffrey Lee Warren, 41, of Sugar Grove. He is currently being held at the Watauga County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.
