LINCOLNTON, NC - The Lincolnton Police Department arrested a local man on numerous charges after 1200 grams of high grade marijuana was found in his possession among other illegal items.
Officers said on Thursday, Feb. 4 members with the Lincolnton Police Dept.'s narcotics division, criminal investigation's division, and patrol division conducted an investigation on Lantern Ridge Drive.
Police said they received multiple drug complaints about a specific home in the apartment complex. The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at the residence.
Police discovered approximately 1200 grams of high grade marijuana, paraphernalia utilized in the trafficking, manufacturing, selling, and delivering of marijuana, a large sum of U.S. currency, several cell phones, and various records, ledgers, and record keeping items. Officers say all items were seized as evidence.
The search warrant led to the arrest of Gary Francis Stroman, Jr., AKA “New Orleans”.
Police said the amount of marijuana, the style of packaging, and the evidence found is indicative of Stroman being a mid-level supplier of high grade marijuana to lower street level dealers.
The seized marijuana has a street value of approximately $6,000.
Stroman was charged with PWISD Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Stroman was given a $25,000 secured bond and issued a first appearance court date in Lincoln County District Court on Friday, Feb. 5. He was then placed in the Lincoln County Jail and made bond shortly thereafter.
Police said Stroman has prior convictions for felony discharging of a weapon into an occupied property, several possession of marijuana, resisting a public officer, second degree trespass, and various traffic related offenses.
Officers said Stroman also has pending charges in Lincoln County for PWIMSD Marijuana, Sell / Deliver Marijuana, and Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substance.
