Police: One person taken to the hospital after shooting in east Charlotte

- A man was injured following a shooting incident Friday morning in east Charlotte, police said.

"I heard four shots. Pop, pop, pop, pop," said Mario Gray.

Gray spoke with the victim just moments before he was shot.

"I talked to him like two or three minutes and he walked down to McdDonald's," Gray said. I think he was trying to get something to eat or something and after that he got shot. He was in Family Dollar bleeding. He was laid down, collasped and he got like shot in the back, he said.

The shooting happened at 10:35 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10 in the 6300 block of Albemarle Road.

Upon arrival, officers located a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to CMC-Main with life-threatening injuries.

According to CMPD, the initial investigation revealed that the man was shot behind a business in the area. A vehicle was also shot into but no one injured.
