GASTONIA, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Emergency crews responded to an intersection in Gastonia Friday morning after a person was struck and killed by a train.
The incident happened at 11:41 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at West Airline Avenue and North Trenton Street.
According to authorities, a man and woman were walking north on one side when the man was reportedly struck and killed by the train. The identity of the man will be released pending family notification.
