Police search for persons of interest in homicide case

- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is searching for two "persons of interest" in connection to a homicide investigation. 

According to police, the call for service came in at 3:57 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016.

That same day at approximately 3:57 a.m., officers responded to Carolinas Medical Center in reference to a male victim who had been dropped off at the hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound. 

At this time, it's not known where the original shooting scene took place. 

On Friday, April 1, the victim was pronounced dead by medical staff as a result of his injuries. 

The victim has been identified as Ernest Louis Cash, Jr., 19. 

The persons of interest have been identified as Antonio Lorenzo Covington, 22, and Shari Lavelle Harris, 18. Police said Covington has an outstanding fugitive warrant out of Georgia for a Probation Violation. 

Harris is known to frequent the Hidden Valley area. 

If anyone sees or knows the whereabouts of Covington or Harris, they are asked to immediately call 911 or contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-VCAT.
