Police: Two family members shot during overnight robbery

- Two people were taken to the hospital following an overnight shooting and robbery in southeast Charlotte, police said. 

Around 3:15 a.m. Monday, August 21 CMPD officers were called to the 6500 block of Outer Bridge Lane for reports of an armed robbery. 

Upon arrival, officers found two men with apparent gunshot wounds. One man sustained a life-threatening injury and the other an non-life threatening injury. Both were transported to CMC-Main for treatment. 

Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team, Real Time Crime, Special Investigations,  and Operations Command also responded.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.
