Police: Two men arrested after shooting into Charlotte home

- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested two men after they say the duo fired shots into a local home. 

The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 2 in the 9500 block of Currier Road.

Upon arrival, Hickory Grove Division patrol officers spoke to the victim who stated that he and a roommate were home when the unknown suspects shot into their residence. 

Officers on scene received information and descriptions of the suspects that were possibly inside a nearby home and called additional units.  

Police located Omar Anthony and Larry Thomas Jr. inside the residence on Rothman Lane and notified detectives from the Hickory Grove Division who responded to the scene. 

After searching the home, officers located two weapons inside which were seized as evidence.

As a result of information and evidence gathered, Anthony and Thomas were each charged with Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Dwelling, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Discharging a Weapon in the City Limits. 

Both suspects were then transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
