Power problems continue for some after Michael

- The resoration of power in Mecklenburg County continued into the weekend with Duke Energy restoring power to thousands.

Despite that, the hundreds that didn't get power are waiting, but report increasing frustration with the delay.

"We're in a big city here, we're in Charlotte, I mean come on," said Tonya, a resident in the Idlewild Farms community of East Charlotte.  "I don't know why it took so long for the power to be restored."

Duke Energy said in a statement, "We recognize being without power is frustrating, and we appreciate the patience our customers granted us after enduring two major storms in a month’s time. Our crews will continue to work as quickly and safely as possible until every customer is restored.”

Nearly a million people were without power after remnants of Hurricane Michael made their way into the Carolinas.  As of Sunday night, Duke Energy reported 34,000 outages throughout North Carolina.
