CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - Protesters gathered Monday in Marshall Park in uptown Charlotte in support of undocumented immigrants.
Those in attendance told FOX 46 Charlotte they’re ready to take their demands to Charlotte City Council.
Once inside council chambers, it got heated chambers Monday night as protesters voiced their concerns. One man was removed from the building.
Mayor Roberts and some council members also briefly walked out.
Following Monday night's City Council meeting, everyone went out into the hallway to continue the discussion.
Mayor Roberts and City Council members met individually with immigration protesters after multiple outbursts shut down the meeting.
