Report: No arrest or confession in 13-year-old Hania Aguilar's kidnapping

- One man's mugshot and a headline that reads "SOURCE: Man accused of kidnapping 13-year-old Hania Aguilar confesses, been in jail since Nov. 13" set off a social media firestorm Tuesday morning, according to a WCTI12 report.

THENCBEAT.com reported the now-viral story. The article cites sources saying 34-year-old Michael Ray McLellan is the man responsible for the abduction of Hania Aguilar in early November.

Authorities flatly denied that report to local media.

"No arrests have been made and certainly no confession," Shelley Lynch Public Affairs Specialist for the FBI Charlotte Division told WCTI12.

Lynch wrote in an email that if this story were true, media outlets "would hear it" from her.
