YORK COUNTY, S.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A Rock Hill father is facing charges after he reportedly exposed his twin children to methamphetamine, according to the York County Sheriff's Office. The mother of the two children was charged in connection to this case in December 2018.
Gavyn Michael Lovett, 27, is charged with two counts of unlawful child neglect and two counts of third-degree assault and battery, online court records state.
Lovett was taken into custody on Wednesday following a three month long investigation into him and the mother of the child, York County Sheriff's Office spokesmen Trent Faris confirmed.
Lovett and the mother are accused of drug use around their two children while staying at a motel on Lesslie Highway in Rock Hill. Both the children and Lovett tested positive for methamphetamine.
Deputies said Lovett was in Spartanburg Jail and released on shoplifting charges Wednesday when he was taken in again for child neglect charges in York County.
