Rock Hill man uses bow and arrow to scare off burglar

- A Rock Hill man used his bow and arrow to scare off a burglar early Friday morning.

According to a police report filed at the York County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the 1800 block of Keith Drive in Rock Hill around 3 a.m. to investigate an attempted burglary. Deputies said the homeowner heard someone trying to climb through a rear window of the home.

Deputies said that's when the homeowner retrieved a bow and arrow from the living room and tried to shoot the suspect as he was running away.

The suspect was not struck by the arrow and was last seen running into the nearby woods.

Deputies were unable to retrieve any fingerprints from the window, but did recover an arrow that was stuck in the ground near a fence behind the residence.

According to reports, deputies were called to the same residence on July 3rd for reports of a prowler, but no one was found.

The family told Fox 46 Charlotte they purchased the bow and arrow for play and protection.
