Rock Hill unofficial runoff election results show Gettys leading

- Polls in Rock Hill are taking in the final votes in the runoff for the city's first new mayor in more than 20 years.

The race is between William Bump Roddey, a York County Council member, and John Gettys-- the Rock Hill Sports Comissioner. The two were separated by a razor thin margin after the first election.

Gettys took the lead Tuesday night with 52 percent of the vote as of 11:00 p.m. when 36 out of 39 precincts had been counted.

Outgoing Mayor Doug Echols is stepping down after 20 plus years in public service.
