ROCK HILL, SC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Rock Hill Schools announced they will be closed Monday, September 11 due to the weather conditions expected in the area from Hurricane Irma.
The latest weather forecast indicates the possibility of high sustained winds making it dangerous for school buses and other high-profile vehicles to travel on Monday.
All school and district activities and events that were scheduled for Monday are canceled.
District officials said they will continue to monitor conditions and consult with emergency preparedness officials in their decision-making process.
School districts to close Monday, Sept. 11:
- Rock Hill, SC schools
- York County, SC schools
- Chesterfield County, SC schools
- Fort Mill, SC (schools and district office)
- Clover, SC schools
- Lancaster, SC schools
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said they are on a normal schedule Monday, Sept. 11. CMS said they're monitoring the weather closely, and will notify residents if conditions warrant a change.
