Family commemorate Rock Hill woman missing for four years now

Sunday, November 25th marks four years since a young woman vanished from a Rock Hill neighborhood.

Aaliyah Bell was 18 and was headed back from her uncle's house when she went missing on November 25, 2014.

Aaliyah’s family has set up a walk to commemorate the four years of her disappearance. The family will walk from Dollar General on Saluda in Rock Hill to the fountain in downtown Rock Hill.

Juanita Boger, Aaliyah's godmother, said she likely disappeared somewhere between North Confederate Avenue and Chestnut Street.

Rock Hill Police said the case has largely run cold since the initial incident. They said this is the city's only major missing persons’ case still on file.

While police said at the time they didn't suspect foul play, Bell's friends and family don't believe that.

"I think somebody took her," said Boger.

Her family also believes she's still alive.

"I'm not ever going to say she's dead," said Boger.  "In my heart, I feel it and it may be just be my love for her, but she's not dead."
