Rowan County murder suspect in custody

- UPDATE:  According to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office, the suspect turned himself into authorities peacefully Saturday morning. Sanders was booked at the Rowan County Detention Center after being denied bond by a magistrate.

The Rowan County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting. 

Taedrin DaShawn Sanders has been identified as the suspect in the shooting that took place just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Officers were called to the scene in the 1200 block of Gheen Rd. in Salisbury where the caller said someone had been shot

Upon arrival, the deputy found the victim, 21-year-old Gregory Yarborough injured, and not breathing. He performed CPR, but Yarborough died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and NC SBI joined the investigation.

Sanders has been linked to two addresses: One in Kannapolis on Summit Ave., and another on Pearl St. in Salisbury.
