Ruth, Rev. Billy Graham's coffins built by Angola inmates

- Rev. Billy Graham, the internationally revered Christian evangelist who died Wednesday, is expected to be buried in a coffin built years ago by inmates at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

The coffin is made out of pine and plywood, lined with a mattress and a wooden cross on top.

Graham's son, Franklin Graham, requested the humble coffins for both his parents after observing the coffins being built by and for inmates on a visit to the state's only maximum-security prison in the early 2000s.

Former Angola Warden Burl Cain said the coffins were plain, but that's what drew Franklin Graham to them.

Billy Graham's wife, Ruth, was buried in the coffin from Angola, in 2007.
