Salisbury PD arrest 1, seize drugs, guns, more than $10,000 from home

- Officers with the Salisbury Police Department  arrested a man with a large amount of drugs, money and guns following a month-long investigation. 

Joseph Worley Alexander III, 37, was stopped while driving a rented Black Ford Explorer near the intersection of S Fulton St. and S. Main St. 

Alexander was being taken into custody when officers found cocaine on him. A search warrant was also executed at his house at 322 Henry Laurens Circle where the officers found about 16 ounces of cocaine, 14 ounces marijuana, rug paraphernalia, three hand guns and more than $10,000. 

Alexander has been charged with trafficking in schedule II, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI, maintaining a dwelling, maintaining a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon  and drug paraphernalia.

He is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1,500,000.00 bond. His first court appearance is set for Wednesday.
