A Salisbury teenager who was arrested for posting a threatening message against her school on her Facebook page has been released from jail, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say Amber Beaver, 17, posted a picture of four guns on a table with the caption, "school finna be lit." Investigators say the guns look like a small piston, shotgun, bolt action rifle, and semi-automatic rifle.
Several students and teachers at East Rowan High School saw the post, which is the school Beaver attends. They told the school resource officer Saturday, October 17, who began working with other deputies to find Beaver. Once the deputies got Beaver on the phone, she told them her Facebook post was a joke and that she thought it would be funny.
Deputies arrested Beaver and charged her with communicating threats, a misdemeanor, and making a false report of mass violence on and educational property, a felony. Deputies took her to the Rowan County Detention Center and a magistrate set her bond at $7,500 secured. Beaver had her first court appearance today and remains in jail.
Fox 46 also learned she had recently re-enrolled in school after dropping out last year.
