Second arrest made in string of armed robberies in Concord

- A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a string of armed robberies that happened in Concord earlier this month. 

Zachariah Daniel Sawyer, 17, has been charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Jaythien Isiah Cartagena, 17, has also been charged in this case. 

The first armed robbery occurred on Sept. 23 around 2:30 a.m. at the Speedway gas station located at 541 Warren C. Coleman Blvd. The second armed robbery happened on Sept. 23 around 10:15 p.m. at the Bojangle's restaurant located at 3451 U.S. Highway 601 South. 

Police said the investigation into these cases is continuing and they suspect other people were involved.
