CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A second person has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 25-year-old man that happened August of last year, police said.
CMPD said Lameek Singleton, 21, with now charged with the murder of Kyyri De Ji Marquis Doggette, 25.
During the course of their investigation CMPD detectives developed probable cause against Singleton for his involvement in the case. Police said he was already in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Jail on unrelated charges.
A convicted felon, Andre Earl Brooks, 23, was also charged with murder in Nov. 2017 in connection to Doggette's shooting death.
The shooting happened on August 8 in the 6700 block of Independence Blvd. Officers say they found Doggette dead inside a car with a gunshot wound.
Doggette's death marked Charlotte 55th homicide for 2017.
