HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A second suspect has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred at a Huntersville apartment complex in December, according to Huntersville Police.
Kelton Tyrich Silver, 23, was taken into custody in Essex County, New Jersey on Friday Jan. 25 by the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
The shooting happened around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 in the 11000 block of Bryton Pass Lane in Huntersville. As officers arrived on scene, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Zonta Monto Dunlap, 28, of Concord, was pronounced dead on scene. The second victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Silver is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a weapon into an occupied property, possession of a firearm by a felon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. The other suspect, Ivan Fernando Petty, 23, was arrested in December and faces multiple charges including first-degree murder.
