Co-workers remember Pineville police officer killed in motorcycle accident

- The memories of Pineville police officer Michael Williams are endless.

"He always made us feel secure and he never had anything bad to say about anybody," said an employee at Dillard's at Carolina Place Mall.

"Funny, witty, he was a very humble man," said another.

Officer Williams died early Saturday morning during an off-duty motorcycle accident along US 421 on US 74 Friday night.

According to the Pineville Police Department, Williams was a full time officer for 15 years and currently a reserve officer.

Since April of 2014, officer Williams worked a few nights a week doing security at Dillard's in Carolina Place Mall.

"As I was walking around the store talking to associates about Officer Williams constantly I heard how much he loved his family and how much he cared about other people," store manager, Wayne McKnight.

Those like Tammy Myers remembering him for his great smile.

"He had this cute little smile that was almost cartoonish," she said.

Others describing him as a protector, and while his other work family mourns his loss, they take peace knowing that he's in a better place.
