CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - Officials said progress on the I-77 Express Lanes continues and is on track to help make travel easier in the Charlotte and Lake Norman region.
Here is a look at the construction activities planned for September:
- Grading operations continue from just north of Exit 33 (Hwy. 21) to Exit 36 (Plaza Dr.) in Morresville
- Construction workers are actively working on aggregate base course (ABC) placement between just north of Exit 23 and the Stumptown Rd. overpass in Huntersville.
- Soil stabilization activities are occurring just south of Exit 25 in Huntersville. Drainage work is progressing northward from Exit 25 to Exit 28 in Cornelius.
- Geotechnical activities such as soil sampling continue in the south segment of the project between the I-85/I-77 interchange and the I-77/Brookeshire Blvd./I-277 interchange in Charlotte
