Several business break-ins reported in Rock Hill

- Rock Hill police are investigating at least four break ins that may be related.

Two of the break ins were at a shopping center on Crown Pointe Lane. The first was at the Palmetto Breeze Cigar Place, the second at Envy Nails.

Three suspects were caught on surveillance using a rock to smash the door of the cigar shop.

Two other robberies occurred about ten minutes down the road shortly after the first two-- one at another nail salon, the other at a pharmacy. Police believe all four could be related.

"This is my retirement plan," said Palmetto Breeze Cigar Place Owner Mike Leland. "And unfortunately, some people want to do business after hours."

It took two throws of a huge rock for the criminals to break in and ransack the cigar shop.

"It's a business that my wife and I have kind of put everything into," said Leland.

Around 6 a.m. Monday, the Leland family was notified about the burglary.

The suspects left behind at least around $500 worth of damage.

"We figure we also lost about 40 percent of our sales that day," said Leland. "Because the system was dead due to the damage of the wiring."

Surveillance cameras caught the criminals in the act.

"Every time I see the video, I feel like I'm getting violated again," Leland said. "When you see it being perpetrated, it adds another dimension to it."

Leland kept the rock and wrote "punks" on it.

"I've kept the rock," he said. "It sits by the door and I painted "punks" on it-- because they're the punks and it's a punk rock. I look forward to the day they're caught and I get to testify in court about the impact it had on me."

If you recognize the car in the video or know who the suspects might be, call Rock Hill Police.
