CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - The aftermath of Monday’s storm is still something Bruce Little is trying to comprehend.
“We are lucky, we are lucky,” Little said.
The cleanup process is continuing Tuesday at the Miracle House Hope of Ministry in west Charlotte. The complex is faith based and serves as a place for recovering drug addicts.
Brandon Litz who shares a home with his wife and young baby just missed the brunt of the damage.
“We heard a crack and then we heard a loud boom and a lot of noise. This tree fell down on apartment number four and the roof caved in. A lot of the debris hit our residence,” Litz said.
Three of the five apartments here are no longer liveable and three work vehicles will likely be deemed total losses.
Now, this group is looking for community support to get them back on their feet --- while knowing things could've been worse.
“A kind of household things, donations of Bibles, clothes, food donations anything at all people want to help support us with any contributions,” said Litz.
“Nobody died, nobody got killed. Everything here is replaceable so we're just grateful for that man,” Little said.
