- Wednesday’s severe weather wrecked havoc in many parts of the region, including  Mt. Holly where a large tree fell and split a single story home in two.

The tree, which measured about 4 feet wide, fell down the center of Alicia Huntsinger’s home o Lance street just after noon Wednesday.

Huntsinger was not home at the time of the incident, but she did show up after to assess the damage and gather some of her belongings.

Unfortunately, her’s is one of several incidents involving downed trees onto homes

Sandra Kezeiah, a representative with Spangler Restoration said business had been non-stop on for the previous 24 hours.

"We started taking trees on houses yesterday from the ground being so wet,” said Kezeiah. “We’ve had to tarp roof's, broken trusses, water damage inside rooms. We had crews on site all day doing those types of things."

A tree also fell through the roof of a townhouse off Vision Drive near Uptown. No one was home at the time, but Kezeiah said it caused significant damage to at least one room.
