Sheriff: Human remains discovered at Lancaster home

- A homicide investigation is underway after human remains were discovered at a Lancaster home on Thursday, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to a home located on High Point Circle around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, March 1 regarding an alleged murder.

The 911 caller told deputies that she was informed by another person that a murder had occurred at a home on High Point Circle on an unknown date several weeks ago. Additional information was obtained indicating that the victim’s body was disposed of at the home.

A search warrant was obtained for the home and investigators were on scene all day Thursday searching the property. About mid-afternoon human remains were found. The remains have not yet been identified. An autopsy has been scheduled.

A thorough search of the property continued well into the night on Thursday.

“The information reported to us has been corroborated so far during our search of this property,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “A suspect is in custody on unrelated charges, and we do not believe the public is in danger.”
