MECKLENBURG CO., N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - More than 50 speeding citations were issued within two hours Sunday along Interstate-485 during a Speed Enforcement Operation, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
The operation was conducted on I-485 at Prosperity Church Road on Sunday, April 28.
The posted speed limit on I-485 is 70 mph. The average speed logged was 88 mph and the highest speed recorded was 100 mph, deputies said.
A total of 56 citations were issued within a two hour span.
