IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A Statesville man is facing multiple charges after he broke into a vehicle and stole a firearm and cash, according to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
The theft occurred at 11:17 p.m. Sunday, April 28 along Cool Springs Road.
The victim told deputies someone had broken into his vehicle and took a firearm and about $120 in cash.
Deputies were able to locate and speak with a witness who informed them the suspect was Gilberto Vasquez Flores, 30. The witness said they saw Flores with the firearm as they were providing a ride home. Flores was located along Eastgate Drive in Statesville with the gun still in his possession.
Flores was taken into custody without incident and charged with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle and felony larceny of a firearm. He is being held on a $8,000 secured bond.
