BOILING SPRINGS, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Three people are in custody after shots were fired Wednesday night on the Campus of Gardner-Webb University, officials say. App users click here.
The shooting was first reported around 6:30 p.m., according to campus officials.The University sent out a tweet about the incident around 7:30 p.m., which said that no injures were reported and that law enforcement had suspects in custody.
Boiling Springs police say a total of five individuals and two cars were involved. They say shots were fired from on vehicle that has been taken and impounded.
Campus police say one person was arrested at 10:25 p.m. and that two more suspect were arrested at 12:02 a.m. Thursday. The say a person of interest who they believed fled campus has agreed to talk with police regarding the issue.

Students received a text alert from the university around 6:41 p.m. instructing them to "avoid university commons apartment G area" and to "take shelter until notified otherwise."
A follow up text alert was sent a short time later stating that the "situation is contained."
Gardner-Webb's campus was placed on lockdown as police worked to clear the area. The lockdown has since been lifted.

At 8:11 p.m. the campus emergency alert system sent an email to students telling them to "remain sheltered in place" and to be "on the lookout for any suspicious movement."
Police are currently reviewing surveillance video of the shooting that was captured by cameras on campus.
The school did have counselors walking throughout the school campus Thursday to talk with students. Officers say they were greeted by students with hugs and saying thank you for keeping them safe.
