CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A south Charlotte home was damaged after a fire broke out while construction crews were working on a roof, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
The home in the 3000 block of Springs Farm Ln. caught fire Monday afternoon when an operated gas switch was somehow ignited, setting the garage on fire and causing heavy smoke damage.
Construction workers were working on the roof of the home at the time, and three people were inside at the time, including an elderly person, but they all got out safely and no injuries were reported.
The construction workers continued working on the roof. The cause of fire is still under investigation.
