Student brings loaded gun to school in Rock Hill

- A student has been charged after he brought a loaded gun to school Wednesday in Rock Hill, according to the Rock Hill Police Department. 

Tony Alexander Lopez, 18, is charged with carrying a weapon on school grounds. 

A school resource officer at Northwestern High School was alerted to a student having a loaded handgun in his possession on the school campus Wednesday, police said. The student, Lopez, was located with a loaded 9 mm glock handgun in his book-bag around 10:15 a.m. 

Police said there were no injuries reported or threats made at school. 

Lopez is currently being held at the Rock Hill City Jail.
