Suspect arrested in October homicide

- A suspect has been arrested in an October homicide, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg Police. 

Everette Larry Campbell, 19, has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. Campbell is accused in the murder of Donald Myers. 

Campbell was interviewed and arrested in Laurinburg, NC after CMPD coordinated with the State Bureau of Investigations. 

The extradition process has begun, but there is no current timetable on Campbell’s return to Mecklenburg County.

Myers was found dead at an apartment complex in the 7100 block of Snow Ln. just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19. Officers were called to in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon and found Myers inside of the apartment with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

This is an ongoing investigation. No other details have been released at this time.
