YORK COUNTY, SC (WJZY) - The suspect involved in an accident that injured a deputy with the York County Sheriff's Office two weeks ago has been taken into custody.
Jamil Ali is charged with failure to stop for blue lights, driving without a license and possession of marijuana.
The deputy is still recovering from her injuries, but doing well, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.
The accident happened on Tuesday, April 5, while the female deputy was conducting a traffic stop.
The crash happened along Carowinds Blvd. in Fort Mill.
The sheriff's office said the deputy was conducting a traffic stop with a vehicle - when the suspect sped off.
The deputy pursued the vehicle and lost control of her patrol car and wrecked.
