CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - A man is in custody after he briefly barricaded himself inside his home after officers attempted to serve him a warrant.
The incident happened at approximately 1:15 p.m. Friday, March 25 at a residence along the 2200 block of Dion Avenue in east Charlotte.
Officers said they were conducting a 'knock and talk' at the home in reference to a person that had outstanding warrants at the location.
Upon arrival, the person barricaded himself inside the home and refused to obey orders to come out. Members of the SWAT Team and negotiators were activated and responded to the scene.
Nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution.
Shortly after, the person surrendered himself to police without further incident.
Andre Brooks, 22, taken into custody and was transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
