Teachers Getting Results: Amanda McArthur

- FOX 46 recognizes teachers getting results in the classroom.

This week's teacher was nominated by a parent who is a FOX 46 viewer.

She e-mailed FOX 46 saying her daughter has been blessed to have "one of the best teachers in the world."  She said she saw what we do to honor teachers at FOX 46, and had to nominate Amanda McArthur-- a first grade teacher at Catawba Springs Elementary School in Denver.

Mrs. McArthur has taught first grade at Catawba Springs Elementary for nine years.  Not only does she love her kids, but they love her, too.

"She's nice and she's kind," said one of her students.  "She's funny and she tries to make hard stuff into fun stuff."

"I like that she makes everything fun," said First Grade Student Josh.

"She can do everything," added Avery.

She's certainly making an impact in the lives of her students.

"That's amazing," said McArthur.  "I do feel like my school family is part of my family-- so it's nice to feel it's mutual."

"She works very hard to integrate technology in her classroom," said Catawba Springs Principal Kristi Smith.  "And she meets the individual needs of her students, and treats them like they’re her own children."

It's the connections she makes inside the classroom that Mrs. McArthur values most.

"I really just feel like God put us on this earth to love people," she said.  "And that's my job, to love and care about people and that translates well into teaching."
