Teen accused of holding York County couple at gunpoint in home invasion

- A teenager is facing multiple charges after deputies said he kidnapped a couple at gunpoint during a home invasion before leading deputies on a high-speed chase in a stolen truck.

Collin Jenkins, 18, of McConnells, is accused of breaking into a house along Ferndale Road at 12:18 a.m. Thursday, August 9. Deputies said Jenkins was wearing a camouflage mask and armed with a handgun when he entered the home.

Jenkins was able to smash a window to get inside, deputies said. Once in the home, he held the couple at gunpoint and stole cash. He then took the husband's 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and sped off.

The couple called 911 and as deputies were arriving, they spotted the Chevrolet driving away near the scene, the sheriff's office said.

Jenkins crashed the stolen vehicle as he attempted to flee, deputies said. A loaded .38-caliber handgun as well as the stolen cash was found in the center consol of the Chevrolet.

Jenkins is charged with burglary, kidnapping, armed robbery, grand larceny, two weapons charges, and four charges in the police chase, according to the sheriff's office and jail records.

He's currently being held without bond at the York County Jail.
