Young Man's new car totaled in hit-and-run in Ballantyne

- FOX 46 needs your help to get results. A 23-year-old had his car parked on the street in front of his home on Tamarron Drive in the Landen Meadows Community of Ballantyne, when a driver hit it and took off.

It happened around midnight Monday morning. Now, police need your help to try to track the driver down.

"I heard a big bang and didn't think anything of it," said Kayden Wu.  "Then I heard another one."

He came outside his home Monday morning to find his car totaled.

"I hear my mom and dad say 'hey, your car has been hit,'" said Wu.  "And I come down and see this and it's like...'wow.'"

His 2017 Toyota Prius was totaled, seriously damaged by another driver.

"I assume he hit it here, swerved, and hit it again."

Wu hasn't even had the car a year yet.

"It was my first purchase by myself, too," he said. "So yeah, my first baby."

The speed limit is 25 miles per hour, so the driver was likely going well past that.

"I usually sit in my car," Wu said. "So if I stayed in there longer, I probably would've gotten hit."

With evidence left behind, police were able to determine they're likely looking for a white, silver or gray A4 Audi.  They're continuing to investigate as Kayden hopes someone comes forward.

"If this is how you want people to treat you, I hope one day this comes back to you," Wu said. "It's just not right.  No responsibility or respect really, because what if this happened to their car, you know?"
