CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Charlotte Mecklenburg Police have ruled a teen's shooting death accidental.
Police say no charges will be filed in the death of 17-year-old Daquayaon Lavar Brown following an investigation and an examination by the Medical Examiner's office.
Police say Brown died at the hospital after being shot overnight in the parking lot of a the Motel 6 at 4416 South Tryon Street on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
Officers were called to Presbyterian Hospital after staff said the teen arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Witnesses who arrived at the hospital with Brown explained that the shooting had happened at the hotel on South Tryon near Woodlawn Road.
CMPD is no longer investigating the case.
