CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A north Charlotte teen was killed Saturday morning in his front yard, according to police.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say they responded to the 2400 block of Carmine St. around 12:01 am for reports of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they located Jarquavise Demonta White, 16, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to CMC by Medic where he was later pronounced dead.
Family members tell police that White stepped outside in the yard and a short time later they heard several gunshots. They walked outside and found that he had been shot.
Police say this is an active investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
